Omar Elikhazadeh is a son of Ismaeel Elikhazadeh. Ismaeel Elikhazadeh was the minister of leader Qazi Muhammed’s government. They are a famous and powerful family in the East of Kurdistan. Many of that family were politicians, they have participated in the revolution against the Shah’s regime and the Islamic Republic.
Omar Elikhazadeh born in 1952, the fact that he was from a political family, he too as soon as became 15 and 16 has got involved in politics and political activities. In 1970 he has contacted the Komala and became a member in it. He finished his preparatory study in Taran and later he completed geology study in Tabrez university. He was one of the key cadres in the Komala and had a significant role in the revolution of nations of Iran in Kurdistan. In the second convention of the Komala in 1981 he became the member of central committee and in charge of secret organization,he was even stayed for reorganizing in secret in Tahranand Tabrez. He was the first head of public station of Komala and was in charge of the first systematic commanding training and the political leaders of the Komala. In the years of the beginning of the revolution of Iranian Kurdistan, he hold different positions in the central committee, such as head of administration committee, internal secretary of Komala, head of organization and head of radio and communication.
In the difficult circumstances he was even head of field of all the Peshmarga forces. He was one of the leaders in Komala in communicating with the political forces in all the parts of Kurdistan and had significant roles. He was known even in relationships with the neighboring countries and international affairs. When the Socialist Party was formed, was the member of the central committee. He very soon had problems with the ideology of communism parties and tried to resolve the Komala for a leftist nationalism. In the 90’s he concentrated his efforts to take out the Komala of a communist party, finally in the year 2000, with several of Komala cadres and leaders such as Abdullah Muhtadi, they raised the flag to make Komala independent. In the year 2005 and the following years, the internal conflicts was developing and Komala was divided on two wings, then the separation of 2007 has happened and since then Mr. Omar was working as the secretary of Komala of Toilers of Kurdistan (KTP-Kurdistan Toilers’ Party) and has made efforts to form a central cooperation of Iranian Kurdistan parties, currently that center is consisting of four main parties.
