sadri،احمد صدری دارای مدرک لیسانس و فوق لیسانس جامعه شناسی از دانشگاه تهران و دکترای جامعه شناسی از دانشگاه نیواسکول، حوزه مطالعات و تحقیقاتی علوم اجتماعی  در شهر نیویورک میباشند. ایشان نویسنده کتاب جامعه شناسی روشنفکران ماکس وبر که درسال ۱۹۹۲ به زبان انگليسي توسط انتشارات آكسفورد منتشر شد میباشند كه نشریه انجمن کتابداران آمریکا آن را به عنوان بهترین کتاب سال آکادمیک ایالات متحده برگزید. دکتر صدری بعنوان یک روشنفکرجامعه شناس، بیش از ۱۴۰ مقاله نوشته اند که شامل ستون‌نويسی روزنامه «ديلي استار» لبنان كه به زبان انگليسي منتشر مي‌شود میباشد. دکتر صدري دو كتاب به زبان فارسي نوشته است: «مفهوم تمدن و لزوم احياي آن در علوم اجتماعي»  و «آخرالزماني در همين نزديكي». او كتابي به نام «شهر صدام» را از عربي به انگليسي و همچنين كتاب ديگري با نام «عقل، آزادي و دموكراسي در اسلام»  را از فارسي به انگليسي ترجمه كرده است. کتاب اخیر ایشان حماسه پادشاهان ایرانی در شاهنامه میباشد که در سال ۲۰۰۵ منتشر گردید   و تحلیل و نقدهای مشتاقانه و علاقمندانه ای از رسانه های آمریکائی از قبیل نشریه ماهانه آتلانتیک، ژورنال وال استریت، سی ان ان در وب و ان پی آر، و گاردین… دریافت نمود. دکتر احمد صدری بطور مستمر در برنامه های تلویزیونی، و رادیوئی در آمریکا از قبیل بی بی سی، سی بی سی، ان پی آر، صدای آمریکا و … فعال بوده اند

Short bio
Ahmad Sadri received his BA and MA degrees in Sociology from the University of Tehran and his PhD in the same field from the New School for Social Research in New York City. He is the author of “Max Weber’s Sociology of Intellectuals” (Oxford University Press, 1992) that was chosen as Academic Book of the Year by Choice Magazine of the American Library Association. As a public intellectual Sadri has written more than one hundred and forty articles including regular editorial columns for Daily Star of Lebanon and Etemad-e Melli of Iran. He has written two books in Persian: “Reviving the Concept of Civilization,” and “An Apocalypse soon.” Sadri’s English translations include “Saddam City” (from Arabic) and “Reason, Freedom and Democracy in Islam” (from Persian.) His most recent work is an abridged translation of the “Epic of the Persian Kings” Shahnameh published in 2005 that has received enthusiastic reviews from Atlantic monthly, Wall Street Journal, CNN online, NPR’s All Things Considered, Guardian, the Federalist and Roll Call. Ahmad Sadri has been a regular contributor on television and radio shows at BBC, CBC, NPR, VOA and WGN.
